Biography
Sarah is a registered nurse with extensive experience in labor and delivery nursing, including intrapartum care, fetal heart monitoring, postpartum care, and interdisciplinary obstetric practice within hospital settings. Her clinical work has involved close collaboration with physicians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia providers, and neonatal teams in the management of both routine and complex birth situations. She has been recognized as a two-time Nurse of the Year nominee at her hospital and received the Outstanding Preceptor Award from the Oregon Center for Nursing for her work guiding nurses as they develop clinical judgment and confidence in complex care environments.
Sarah also brings experience from healthcare roles within the insurance environment, where she worked with medical documentation and healthcare claims. This work provided additional perspective on the review of clinical records, interpretation of standards of care, and the evaluation of healthcare-related events.
She now provides medicolegal consulting related to obstetric nursing care, assisting attorneys in understanding clinical records, nursing practice standards, hospital policies, and the processes that influence care in labor and delivery settings.
